Flexible Packaging in Windhoek

TF Impact Studio designs flexible packaging in Windhoek for food producers and manufacturers across Namibia. Flexible packaging covers stand-up pouches, flat pouches, sachets, flow wrappers and bags, the kind of packaging used for biltong, dried fruit, coffee, spices, rusks, nuts, pet treats and powders. It is light, protects the product well and gives you a large printed surface to sell from, which is why so many small producers move to pouches once their product has proven itself at markets and in local shops.

Designing for pouches is different from designing a label. The printed area wraps around gussets, seals and zips, and parts of the artwork are hidden in the seams or distorted where the pouch bulges when filled. We work from the converter's template, keep important elements away from seal areas and design the front panel to look good when the pouch is standing full on a shelf, not just flat on a screen.

A pouch also has to carry the same product information as any other food or consumer packaging: product name, ingredients, allergens, net weight, producer details, storage instructions, a date field and a barcode. We give these a clear back-panel layout and make sure the barcode is on a flat, unbulged area where a scanner can read it. You confirm the specific requirements for your product category, and we make sure the layout has room for them.

We prepare the final artwork for your packaging converter, whether they print pouches digitally in short runs or use gravure or flexo for larger volumes, and we answer their prepress questions on your behalf. For products still in development, we can also print short-run labels to apply to plain stock pouches so you can sell at markets and to first stockists in Windhoek while the printed packaging is being produced.
